This is a striking large hand‑tinted portrait photograph of a young gentleman, dating from the late Victorian or Edwardian era (c.1890–1910). The subject is smartly dressed in a three‑piece suit with bow tie and pocket square, the photo beautifully coloured with soft, lifelike tones. It is presented in a substantial, deeply carved ebonised frame with decorative moulded details and stepped corners, and mounted within an oval gilt‑lined aperture on a dark matte. The frame measures approx. 16 inches high; the reverse shows its original wooden backing and hanging cord, with faint pencil/ink notes visible.
